NEW! Multi Method EPP & Drawstring Pouch Class – Beginner & up. 20th June
A fun class for Beginners and up!
This is a multi-method workshop combining hand & machine sewing. You’ll first make your drawstring pouch using a sewing machine, then you will make your english paper pieced (hand sewing) emblem to decorate it, finally sewing it on to your drawstring pouch by hand.
This is a great class for playing with “fussy cutting” – showcasing the various ways you can use different prints and patterns to highlight your emblem or make a new pattern from an existing one – see the photos shown.
You can choose from 5 different epp motifs – small hexagon flower / medium hexagon flower / butterfly / bee or spool of thread. All are easy with only a few pieces in each but versatile enough that you can really play with colours and make your pouch personal.
The drawstring pouch is lined and uses straight line stitching only.
You’ll be shown the methods and given tips and advice whilst making a fun project and using multiple techniques! Equipment is supplied for this class but you will need to select and bring some scraps of fabric with you to make your epp emblem – this is where you can play with quirky prints and fussy cut them to make your motif unique. If you don’t have anything suitable you can purchase a fat quarter on the day
A long quarter (from the bolt) of fabric – you will have time in the class to select this and a plain fabric will work best
2 metres of ribbon
1 fat quarter of print/patterned fabric – optional
Thursday 20th June – 10am – 2/2.30pm – £35 per person + materials
