Sunday June 2
We’re so thrilled to welcome Carolyn Forster to The Sewing Space. This month she’s off to the USA to teach at the Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas, but next March she’ll be here with little ‘ol us!
Over the years Carolyn’s work has been featured in various British and International quilting magazines. Her quilts have appeared on the television; both here and in the US, and has contributed to books published by New Holland and That Patchwork Place.
We’re holding this class from 10:00-4:00 on a Sunday in order to accommodate a few more people, but numbers are still limited, so book early!
Tired of fine hand quilting but not comfortable with machine quilting? Then you are ready to try Big Stitch Quilting and its variations. These are quick ways to quilt your tops by hand using such stitches as Crows foot and Mennonite Tacks along with buttoning and tying.
On a pre-made top (pattern supplied if you wish to use it) or bring along a piece that needs quilting or just a large quilt sandwich for practicing with. You will stitch all the different stitches and try your hand at Amish wave or elbow quilting. We will also look at how women in years past quilted quilts quickly with utility type quilting designs. Hand work.
You will receive an email when you sign up to let you know what supplies to bring to class. Please ensure we have your email address.
